Big thanks to the community for your involvement in this latest batch of covers! (Here’s looking at you, felis catus minimus) I wasn’t able to get ,y entire vision down for the logo, and some modifications had to be made for legibility, but hese are head and shoulders better than the previous ones.
I especially like the Lucky Clover on Gambit 😉

Bit of a shame as the originals were very striking and unique but I think I like these new ones a little more, very sleek and sexy and they do scream military spaceship sci/fi.

We liked the art style of the others, but getting actual images and scenes that fit the world was almost impossible – for instance, we tried to get rid of the overly busty, blue-haired girl literally a dozen times and couldn’t communicate with the artist to do so.

Covers do look nice, but you are right about the previous one’s being “ärtsy”. They did stand out but the first one put me off for literally weeks. I kept wanting to buy the “Admiral Who” book for weeks but there was something about the cover. After buying, reading and getting hooked on the story. I kept looking for the same “artsy” covers. They made the books unique. Hopefully you can do special alternate covers. The new ones just look like generic sci fi novels.

I like the cover of the first book the most, I would have imagined though that spaceships don’t use windows cause a lucky hit can crack it and our poor Admiral gets flown out into the abyss? Mayhaps a 3 dimensional projection on the wall? [Also, I imagine that the bridge would be in the middle of a ship, as it would be the most safe spot in a fight? ]
Either way, its better than before so good work!

Ok do the new covers mean that Amazon has also updated the downloadable versions to the newest/updated versions?
(Still patiently waiting to get a cleaned up copy of Admiral Who.)

Not yet, I tried back when the covers first came out and they rejected it because of font size issues. I’ve since just tried again, at your prompting. We’ll see!

I checked at Amazon (shortly after my post) and they still were not letting me get an updated version. So I checked and turned on automatic Book Updates on my account… Still nothing. So I send them feedback asking if they knew why I was not getting updates on books I knew were updated…
Well they mailed me an updated copy instead of fixing the problem…. 😉
My new version of “Admiral Who?” is showing in the title page v1.01 re-edited 9-20-2012 with the new cover.
And the “Books by Luke Sky Wachter” page lists “as of 06-24-2013”
So it looks like I have the current version. 🙂
Since I bought the other Admiral Who books shortly after publication I assume they have also had a few minor tweaks and corrections since they were released. We will see if they ever get around to allowing those books to be updated to the latest version.

Yeah just after you commented I requested again, they said it was under review and they would let me know. Then today I got another e-mail saying one or more of my customers complained about the book. did I want to upload another copy?
Anyway on 6/24 I updated all the books so worst case it sounds like you can request the latest copy of all the books.
I hope most or all of your complaints have been corrected with the updated copy!

Heh… Sorry that it has been a while since I have commented (And I never did get that review in) but just after I read book 4 I received a project at school that literally took all my time… Hell, I even ignored my fiancée on her birthday… which didn’t go down too well… but meh… it’s all over now and I beat that project like the bitch it was! XD
Love the new covers… Also loved the books, I am gonna go read them again now so I can have some downtime from programming non stop for the past 3 months… if I see another ‘i++’ or ‘For Each’ I may just scream… XP

Glad to hear you were successful with your projects. I understand how rough it can be sometimes doing stuff over and over and over again.
